On this WJS article about the post office. It is taking the first step toward cutting back to five day a week delivery. Residual paperwork, we need it once a week for budgeting, maybe, but not everyday. Better for the Post Office to branch out into wider, on demand, delivery. Reuse the same resources but arrange themselves to better fit.
The Post Office should contract with Congress to subsidize one day a week mail, then go ahead and find more business.
