What is Honorable about the Classroom?

My Phan, a senior at Monterey Trail High School in Elk Grove, says she can't get help from teachers before or after school. She and other members of the school's National Honor Society no longer can meet on Wednesday mornings because the teacher isn't in the classroom.

This is a Sacromento story bout teachers working only the 7.5 hours a day and no more. Nothing wrong with that.

My question is for the National Honor Society. Why do smart people think time in a classroom is more productive than time on the information network? You know these kids are on the computer each night. What is it that an Elk Grove teacher knows that Kahn, and thousands of PHDs and thousands of on line materials do not know?

Somethings wrong here, this story seems too contrite, something the reporter mis-represented.
