Just a few murders

With three weeks left in 2012, Stockton has already reached an all-time high for homicides – 68 so far, 10 more than the previous record last year. The sad saga of bloody, financially struggling Stockton should serve as a cautionary tale for other financially beleaguered cities in California. Good fiscal management isn't some esoteric goal. If we get through this with 75 murders a year in Stockton, that will be OK. I mean, 58 killed last year, and for a mere 10 more killed Stockton gets to dump 25% of the cops.
