Theories abound. Here are the theories I have seen
1) A taper will cause the SP500 to crash.
2) Interest costs would be out of control in DC.
3) Interest rates would cause bankruptcies in municipal bond market.
4) Janet is a money printer and stopped the taper.
Who knows? When Ben writes his memoirs we will know. But I suspect all three things might happen at once. This all ends badly.
