California Attorney General Kamala Harris has urged the U.S. Supreme Court to let public colleges in other states keep their authority to consider a student's race in admissions decisions, saying California's ban on affirmative action has made schools less diverse and harmed students of all races.''''/The court ruled in a California case in 1978, and again in a Michigan case in 2003, that public colleges could not set racial quotas but could take race into account in order to promote campus diversity. A more conservative court has agreed to reconsider the issue in the case of a white woman who said she was unfairly turned away at the University of Texas, which considers applicants' minority status.Such programs have been outlawed in California since 1996, when Proposition 209 banned racial preferences in public education, employment and contracting.
Minority is a mathematical term, this dingbat cannot do simple numerical comparisons. Whites are a minority in California. So whaty is this nut talking about? Kamal Harris is trying to be a female Obama. Once again affirmative action at work. She should spend as much time on reading as she does on getting her hair straightened.
