The gun market for coaches who serve as voluntary security guards is very inelastic. Most coaches consider coaching to be the higher priority. The market for crazies who kill students is very elastic, crazies have killing students high in their priority. See the difference?
In Florida, the goal, according to Rick Scott, is to sell as many guns as possible to crazies, their demand is higher, The more kids killed, the more votes Rick Scott gets. The theory seems to work, Rick has not resigned even though he successfully conspired to kill 17 kids.
