Mario Savio is rolling in his grave

UC Berkeley Student Government Bans Term ‘Illegal Immigrant’
The UC Berkeley student government has banned the term “illegal immigrant” from its discourse, deeming the phrase racist, offensive, unfair and derogatory. In an unanimous vote, student senators passed a resolution that stated the word “illegal” is “racially charged,” “dehumanizes” people, and contributes to “punitive and discriminatory actions aimed primarily at immigrants and communities of color.”

UC Berkeley students are fairly dense anyway, in my opinion. Politically correct regimes, like socialist thought police are an embarrassment. This is one more reason to break up California, this ever present Orwellian society designed by SF liberals.  I cough and gag at the number of Berkeley students stupid enough to think this crap is proper.

If you are a Berzerkeley idiot, then here is what the Free Speech movement was about:
In protests unprecedented in scope, students insisted that the university administration lift the ban of on-campus political activities and acknowledge the students' right to free speech and academic freedom.

Now something happened to replace brains with one party rule in Berkeley. Anybody want to hire a mentally straight jacketed Berkeley graduate?

My hometown criminals

4 charged with severing pot clinic owner's penis
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Four people were charged with kidnapping a California marijuana dispensary owner, torturing him with a blowtorch and cutting off his penis during a robbery because they thought he was burying piles of cash in the desert, authorities said Friday. Ryan Anthony Kevorkian, 34, and Naomi Josette Kevorkian, 33, were arrested Friday in Fresno, a day after the FBI arrested 34-year-old Hossein Nayeri in Prague in the Czech Republic, Orange County authorities said in a statement.

Fresno, we generate stupid people.

Mark Zandi's big miss

Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics Inc. estimates a three-to-four week shutdown would cut growth by 1.4 points. Zandi projects a 2.5 percent annualized pace of fourth-quarter growth without a shutdown. A two-week shutdown starting Oct. 1 could cut growth by 0.3 percentage point to a 2.3 percent rate, according to St. Louis-based Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.Bloomberg, Sept 27

Six weeks later growth comes in at 2.8%. How could Zandi be so screwed up? Multipliers are less than one, gdp grew faster with fewer bureaucrats, mainly in California. Is there any other explanation? Mark Zandi is still taking his multipliers from bogus research which always seems to compute a 1.5 multiplier.

Only in California

Authored by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, the targeted law allows transgender students to use the school facilities, and sign up for the sports teams, that match their gender identities. Supporters cast it both as a needed protection for transgender students who endure bullying and ridicule and as a way to enshrine tolerance in the law.

Steady, increasing real growth

We evidently reset the economy on New Years day with the tax change and the California re-allignment.  Since then growth has accelerated until we have 2.8%, a solid second gear.

Will it last? It depends on what happens with the thirty Little Hoover states that now control DC.  Likely they will crash the economy soon.

Bankrupt City of Fresno CA resorts to car theft.

The national press reported that my home town was down to ten days in cash. Next thing you know they are putting notices on car that they have to be removed from owner property.  These are perfectly fine cars, taken out of use but otherwise parked on the owners driveway and off the street.  I got a notice for my perfectly fine 2000 Toyota pick up.

This is what Californians are facing, a desperate band of city employees engaging in mafia style tactics to preserve their puny little jobs. California will be in a civil war because of these union bozos.

Excessive wealth threatens NYC with power shortages

In another amazing fact of our time, JPMorgan warned of the threat to NYC electricity from the wattage needed with excessive digital wealth:
'Another week, another high for equities' is the resigned way JPMorgan's Jan Loeys begins his discussion of "bubbles" this week - the massive gains in equity markets, in a month and a year of lower economic growth and earnings expectations, are raising a warning flag for many investors that easy money and liquidity are creating serious asset bubbles that threaten future growth and investment returns. Simply put, "a bubble view is a view that the Fed will stay easy for too long" and will then have to stamp on the brakes when growth and inflation suddenly react to easy money; and "a sudden spurt in growth is the biggest risk to asset reflation."

My Affirmative Action Ambassador to DCville

Sen. Dianne Feinstein's New NSA Bill Will Codify and Extend Mass Surveillance of Americans

Whoa, I was told she was going to serve tea to the boys, and that was about it. I am only taking One Fifth the blame for this.

Housing unaffordability in California

Mark Hanson has done the work
Back to 2006 Levels

In a valuable report from Mark Hanson, housing is unaffordable.

What happened recently, everyone is asking and debating.  Growth happened, we attempted and sustained second gear in the USA. That is why EM money came back.

What caused the growth?
The regime change in government spending, government re-alignment, tax alignment, sequestering, and budget debates; caused, indirectly by California voters and their Guv, Jerry, give the guy credit.  All of government, including DC, needed his austerity, or the state was bankrupt, simple enough. Its the hegemon effect, accelerated by the Undemocratic party.

Why does growth make housing unaffordable?

Ungrowth, from DC.  Our central government has an accelerator, the rollover problem.  When growth happens, the interest expense surge is large, relative to plan and causes a constant, and expensive readjustment to already inefficient planning.

Where did Bob Dylan get inspiration?

I am confused, he sounds more like early Hank Williams than Woody Guthrie.
