Only in Illinois

Officials from a small, cash-strapped suburban school district have been under scrutiny this year for what critics say is excessive spending, from extensive travel, to adding friends and family to the payroll, to secretly padding the superintendent's pension.
Now, they are facing new questions about how the district has shelled out hundreds of thousands of dollars for taxi services in recent years under a no-bid arrangement.
Since the 2011 school year began, Bellwood School District 88 has paid People Cab Co. $605,000 to shuttle homeless and special education students to and from school. More than half — or $311,000 — of those expenses were authorized by the board during the past two school years alone, records obtained by the Tribune show.
Bellwood's taxi bills far outpace those of surrounding districts, state education records show.
Suggestions for Illinois.  School board members should read and add.  Had they those two skills, then they would have realized early they will be busted.

After voters let the bums rob the till, where do the kids go? California, they join the homeless army in LA, and they stay homeless as California teachers drain the till.

Central banks make sure government meets their budget

Business Insider: Having spent billions of dollars on post-crisis U.S. financial industry reforms they once scorned, bankers are concerned the Trump administration, joined by a like-minded Congress, will scrap or significantly change the rules.
To comply with a rule known as Dodd-Frank, which was enacted in 2010 following the financial crisis, big U.S banks hired tens of thousands of staffers, built new technology systems, hived off businesses, simplified corporate structures and doubled the amount of capital they hold.
And when politicians are having trouble, then they regulate, or price fix, so  debt suppliers have dough-re-me.
A better solution would be to separate the government from banking all together, and let the bots automate finance. With %100 probability, government bankrupts once a generation. Why get the banks involved at all?

This would never pass Due Process back east

  • A federal judge’s decision to disclose the complete records of an estimated 10 million California public schoolchildren to a private plaintiff raises serious concerns about privacy and digital security.
  • A simple two-part framework can help the judiciary properly balance affected parties’ privacy interests and cybersecurity concerns against the need for trial discovery. First, the court should protect privacy by limiting the exposure of sensitive and superfluous information. Second, once the court has decided which sensitive data to expose, it must act to protect those data.
  • These strategies will not prevent all data spills, but they will raise the awareness and protective diligence of all the concerned parties.
See California's problem? We have no legal  model that even prevents genocide, except for the drag of federal courts.  Franciscan Divinity is alive and well, and Californians might be doomed under secession.

Our bankers are failing us.

Congestion without trading pit is a graph jam

DIGITAL PAYMENT SUCCESS IS A DOUBLE-EDGED BLADEThe findings presented by Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma are an eye opener for anyone who is interested in digital payments. Unprecedented growth for mobile wallet solutions is a positive sign for what the future may hold for India. That ecosystem, however, can only be sustained if the resources allow it. Expansion is good, but overstretching resources can quickly cripple any business.
In a way, Paytm and the Bitcoin network are not all that different. Both projects provide an alternative way of thinking about money while adding convenience to store and use it. Paytm is far more widely accepted than Bitcoin is, of course, but under the hood they share similar struggles and concerns.

Trading pit enforces closure and  spawns when congestion is overwhelming.

Trading pit eliminates the need for block chain

Financial News: Goldman Sachs has dropped out of the R3 blockchain group. The investment bank was one of nine original members of R3, founded in 2014 to explore the use of the distributed database technology in Wall Street infrastructure.

When California has no legal tradition

CalPensions: The state Supreme Court last week agreed to hear an appeal of a groundbreaking ruling that allows cuts in the pensions earned by current state and local government workers, including judges.
When judges have an obvious conflict of interest and excuse themselves from ruling on a case, the legal term is “recuse.”
But the seven Supreme Court justices seem unlikely to recuse themselves from a possible landmark ruling on this Marin County pension case, mainly because there is no clear alternative.
There is at least one well-publicized example of how judges ruling on their own pensions creates the appearance of self-serving, if not what President-elect Trump called a “rigged” system.
See what happens. On what basis shall the court rule? There is no basis one way or the other in Franciscan Divine law, we never graduated to English law.  Now we a\re stuck, states rights has trapped us in the nightmare.

An election causes banks to fail?

Business Insider: Eight separate Italian banks face the prospect of failure in the coming months should a "no" vote prevail in Sunday's nationwide referendum on constitutional reforms proposed by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
If "no" wins, which is currently looking highly likely — most polls put it around six points ahead of the "yes" camp — market turmoil and turbulence should follow, "officials and senior bankers" cited by the Financial Times on Sunday say.

Am I the only one who sees the absurdity of central banking?  Central banks cause starving in Venezuela and economic collapse in India. And central banks require helicopter drop every generation? Anybody get a picture here?

Dimension N has dimension N+1 as a quantization boundary

Wiki on spaceyime:
In everyday life, there are three familiar dimensions of space (up/down, left/right, and forward/backward), and there is one dimension of time. Thus, in the language of modern physics, one says that spacetime is four-dimensional.[9] One peculiar feature of string theory and M-theory is that these theories require extra dimensions of spacetime for their mathematical consistency: in string theory spacetime is ten-dimensional, while in M-theory it is eleven-dimensional.[10] The quantum gravity theories appearing in the AdS/CFT correspondence are typically obtained from string and M-theory by a process known as compactification. This produces a theory in which spacetime has effectively a lower number of dimensions and the extra dimensions are "curled up" into circles.[11]

This comes up all through mathematics, a N dimensional model can be derived from it N+1 model.  The extra dimension really  gets you a reasonable X axis, and that seems necessary to satisfy Professor Ito.  I call it the clock, as in sending digital information.  But it is ultimately a cheat because that leaves God at N+2, always a mystery.  I have no answer.
