In general, the sandbox supports security patents

San Francisco-based exchange, Coinbase, just received a patent for a security methodology for storing, distributing, and using private keys. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) approved and published the patent on August 15.  
Years ago I concluded that intellectual property should be allowed regarding security issues. This was especially true on the issue of intelligent cash cards being as safe as possible.
