Government agencies are looking further into adopting blockchain technology and bitcoin. They hope to commandeer these protocols in order to protect the military from mass-hacking campaigns, counterintelligence, and otherwise hostile attacks on their systems. The Pentagon has especially shown recent interest in using cryptographically-guarded blockchains to aid their operations.There is a bigger picture, government agencies now live in a more accurate, autotraded world. Better cash flow accounting is on the way, and what a better place to start than maybe blockchain.
Accounting reform is also getting pushed by the pension regulators as part of the general virtual bankruptcy of government in the dollar system. All the re-tooling is happening at once.
