The NRA neglects the context in which their members live

Thousands of students scold lawmakers in Florida and Washington over gun violence ahead of planned national school walkout

At the workplace or at school, the deadender talking about his NRA membership is persona non grata, they are considered potential mass shooters.  

We know these kids, mostly male. We know the NRA equate guns and manhood. We live with the male castration panic everyday, and we think NRA members are dangerous. We  really do. 

When  we see some nut on video with an AR16, we think why not watch home repair and learn power tools. They are both legal, the one is weirdly zarre and NRA dangerous, the other has high utility.
