Oregon, the new refugee camp of America

Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, called Sunday for a federal investigation and charges against Portland, Oregon, Mayor Ted Wheeler after an attack on a conservative journalist by antifa activists during one of the city’s frequent protests.“To federal law enforcement: investigate & bring legal action against a Mayor who has, for political reasons, ordered his police officers to let citizens be attacked by domestic terrorists,” Mr. Cruz tweeted.
Portland declares civil war. The Texans want Oregon nuked.   How about some extraordinary rendition? Or, how about we turn Oregon into a refugee camp?
  • 14,476  Estimated 2018 Oregon homeless population
  • 1 in 4 Number of homeless Oregonians who are in households with children
  • 10 Percent increase in the number of homeless people in Multnomah County 2015–2017

The Sunday New York Times briefly trained a national spotlight on Oregon's underfunded public pension fund and the impact that increased pension payments are having on government employers around the state, despite increased overall budgets.
It's a seemingly perennial problem in Oregon, and has become a third rail of state, and in some cases, family politics.
Consequently, as The Oregonian/OregonLive has covered extensively and The Times story noted, required contributions from public employers are going way up, displacing cops, teachers, school days and every other form of public service around the state. One expert has called it "a moral issue" for the state.
Oregon, the new refugee camp of America. Can we start sending our LA overflow up there?  Oregon is essentially doomed.

At a huge cost to American taxpayers

Israel and U.S.-aligned Arab countries have what might be a unique chance to forge a regional peace deal given their shared worries about Iran, the chief of Israel's Mossad spy service said on Monday. In a rare public appearance, Joseph (Yossi) Cohen said his agency had formed a task force designed to spot peacemaking opportunities in a region where only two Arab states, Egypt and Jordan, have full ties with Israel."The Mossad today espies a rare opportunity, perhaps for the first time in Middle East history, to arrive at a regional understanding that would lead to a comprehensive peace accord," he told the Herzliya Conference, an annual international security forum near Tel Aviv.
"Common interests, the fight against rivals such as Iran and Jihadist terrorism, the close relations with the White House and channels of communication with the Kremlin all combine to create what might be a one-time window of opportunity," Cohen said. The United States convened Arab and other dignitaries in Bahrain last week to encourage investment in the Palestinian economy that might help renew peace talks with Israel.
Taking advantage of the frightened Sunni Arab monarchy does not help.  The Arab will come back at us with terrorism.  Israel's best bet is anything that lowers the cost of US involvement, the happier the US taxpayer, the more likely Israel get foreign aid.

Step one done on my California back taxes

I have located the old forms I filled out. Now I have to identify the proper agent and do a deal.  That is about six months, I am not motivated.  Why not just keep on doing what I been doing, dodge the issue?  There is a terrible disincentive to paying taxes in a failed Central American state.

Change of heart

After issuing comments and reports heavily critical of cryptocurrencies over the last few years, Agustin Carstens, chief of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), has acknowledged that central banks will likely soon need to issue their own digital currencies.Speaking to the Financial Times on Sunday, Carstens said that BIS – which acts like a central bank for central banks – is supporting global central banks’ efforts to research and develop digital currencies based on national fiat currencies.A number of central banks are engaged in such work and “we are working on it, supporting them,” Carstens said. Further, the arrival of such products might just around the corner if there is clear evidence of demand from the public.
BIS changing its mind after pestering by central banks.  They have no choice.  Someone is building an FDIC app, a complete digital bank that fits into our AppleID iPods. So tell Tim Cook to get AppleID ready for applications.

“The issue is how will the currency be used? Will there be discovery of information, or data that can be used in credit provision and how will data privacy be protected?” he said, adding that a “simple way” to regulate such cryptocurrency networks is to start addressing “immediate and very obvious” money laundering concerns.
That is Tim's job, he has to get to DC and talk to the NSA. If the NSA is on board, we can guarantee lower limits on CB currency levels help as digicash. The other problem, it is not enough for the CB to support digital, they have to get humans out of the loop in order to compete in sandbox.

The cost of educating Kamala

School Segregation and Busing: Lessons in Government Failure

The last few weeks of electoral politics have somewhat unexpectedly prompted a surge of historical interest in busing. The practice of transporting students for long distances to achieve racial integration at schools in other neighborhoods created a recurring point of contention in American politics from the 1950s through the 1980s, although it had mostly faded from the modern political landscape.

That changed a few weeks ago when former Vice President Joe Biden came under fire for his own anti-busing stance in the 1970s, and subsequently defended working with segregationists in the U.S. Senate on related legislation as a political necessity of the time.
Kamala and her advisers will be genuinely stupid about the history because they were brain washed by the public school system in California.   It is nice we found out about their lack of education sooner than later, but as you can see, the history of the subject has to be retold. Retold at great expense to overcome the propaganda of California public schools, an added expense.

Our best solution is to dump Kamala permanently, she is a slow learner and she will cost us trillions. It is the same problem Tea Party welfare bums suffer, never learning that the original Tea party didn't like the king.

Dems still shell shocked

Trump's House allies lie in wait for Mueller

The Congressional left wing thinks they can get some Trump shock therapy. Instead they will get more shocks if the dossier fraud leads up to Obama. If that happens we will have millions of dems, Like Kevin Drum, fall back into a two year psychosis.

Fake news is expensive

The news business is on pace for its worst job losses in a decade as about 3,000 people have been laid off or been offered buyouts in the first five months of this year. The cuts have been widespread. Newspapers owned by Gannett and McClatchy, digital media companies like BuzzFeed and Vice Media, and the cable news channel CNN have all shed employees. The level of attrition is the highest since 2009, when the industry saw 7,914 job cuts in the first five months of that year in the wake of the financial crisis, according to data compiled by Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., an outplacement and executive coaching firm. The firm’s tally is based on news reports of buyouts and layoffs, and includes downsizing at printing operations and advertising and tech executives at Verizon Media Group, home of HuffPost...
Hence the subscription services.   But subscription service will not work if folks have to fill in a contract for indefinite money extraction.

What works better is Penny Clicker, and if new reporters want to work, they should be pushing Tim Cook to get that app up and running under AppleID. It is one of the killer apps for Apple, go for it.

Retiring boomers holding out

Who Killed Zoning Reform in California?
California homeowners’ opposition to new housing construction is entirely consistent with the behavior predicted by urban economist William Fischel’s “home-voter hypothesis.” Fischel’s work suggests that homeowners—or “home voters”—will make use of the state and local political process, particularly zoning, to prevent any development that might devalue their homes, which are usually a household’s primary source of wealth.
Boomer planning one last killing, a capital gains shot from their home gets them a nice place in Arizona, maybe Florida.  This is built in, a product of the public sector actually, retiring from the public sector in Calizuela is a double whammy.

Debt deflation

The S/L queue is severely skewed, the past bonds held mainly by the super wealthy.

Wealthy people are willing to pay a tax to keep the currency out of Nixon Shock territory. This is a side effect of the fake double entry accounting money. As debt becomes unsustainable over the monetary cycle, taxes are required to keep the velocity equation accurate.

We also have another name, the budget will tend to balance, whether or not we try to prevent it. We have a name for that effect, sandbox theory of constrained flow. Eventually the tax is too onerous and wealth executes the MMT moment.

I keep mentioning the aliasing problem. Wealth can sample up through the complete spectrum, the rest of us cannot, a result of the debt cartel.  At some point, wealth sees enough to safely break off, institute their own liquidity net and just collect the regular 300 billion from taxpayers.  This is the same effect that makes quarks, I keep telling everyone, and I am right. I have just put the problem in sample space and aliasing effects become noticeable.

Kamala is a dunce

Bernie: Does Anybody Think It’s A Good Idea To Bus Kids An Hour To Another Neighborhood?

Dingbat broad thinks this is all about political correctness. She has no idea how badly people perceive her busing idea.
