The deficit crisis is in our heads, says Smith

Many of my friends on the left are coming closer to my view that plans to tackle the budget deficit are highly overrated, in part because there is no pressing deficit crsis and in part because the lack of a pressing threat makes it highly unlikely that any plan will actually work.Modeled Behavior
We tried ignoring the problem and Obama wouldn't let tax rates go up. We tried saying Social Security was not part of politics, then Obama cut the SS tax.

If we really want the delusions to go away then the best bet is to shut down DC periodically, that is where the delusions are coming from.
