My friends list should be public to no one, not even the Facebook servers. But I can store is locally, as a Dom tree in nested order (send checks to me). Then is is private data. Me and my new friends share encrypted messages, but no one other than my browser local storage ever reads my friends list, unless I give a version update. At the heart of database synchronization is a simple version check of document tree needed versus document tree stored.
The top Dom store is the face book page itself. It needs to be a public standard. Thus I can possibly bring up my facebook with merely an encrypted version check. I can keep multiple facebooks depending on needs, all of them local. We complete this idea that related groups can organize themselves, autonomously.
