Austerity now or later

Let us take the Keynesian position and schedule another 3 trillion extra debt until the recovery. That comes to an additional $25,000 debt per household, the household will have to give something up to cover the debt service of another $1,000 per year. Remember, the typical household now covers about $3-5,000 in debt service.

I doubt it. The current rule is that we contract when oil costs rise much above 6%. Debt service taxes for Congress now range around 10% of income for the typical household.
