If we rely on recent history, this next batch of government spending will drive up import prices faster than domestic prices. The revision gap will increase, government economists fudging the numbers while trade economists get it right.

However, this would be the fourth spike in import prices driven by federal spending since the crash. Oil traders smell a contango, when flow mismatches stocks and inventory adjustment occur. The queue is too long, as I say, domestic producers might be pre-emptive. If the domestic economy has learned its lesson, then it won't wait, it will began to reduce import consumption today.

I think this is the key experiment here. The issue for domestic producers is: Make an adjustment for oil shortages now, or wait until oil prices jump.

The Economist has done some work. The redder the state the more the payola.
First, who pays the bills.  Minnesota and Delaware suffer  huge deficits, thanks to years of bozo Senators, including the current comic Al Franken and Joe Biden. Then comes Illinois, the bankrupt state, and New York, home of the New Deal.

Two puzzles. One, cold, large states get ripped off.  And two is Delaware.  Why would Delaware waste its over-representation in the Senate?  I think it is the Biden effect, sort of a rare event.

Connecticut is easy to explain, Leiberman is a serial war declarer.

States striking it rich? Most of them over represented by the Senate. Being a channel theorist, I look at the number of bins put up on the payola category, winning states are broken into four shades of red. That tells me that the Senate Goodie factory spits out fours sets of -iLog(i).  That four stage production factory has to be maintained for the Senate to cooperate.

Go back to Menzies charts on the revisions. What will you find there? Exports were accurately estimated, the domestic economy was not. What has the domestic economy been doing since the crash? Spending federal money via the socialist central banker, and Treasury. The embezzlers are in DC, they are operating with a very distorted view of what DC multipliers are right now. The embezzlers are the Keynesians!

JACOB S. HACKER and OONA A. HATHAWAY spend  16 paragraphs talking about our unbalanced democracy and not once did they mention mal-proportionment in the Senate. Let me remind these numbskulls that California has 1/10 of the requisite average Senate representation.  I expect bad math form the NYT, so let me do the numbers:

535 Congressional districts for 100 Senators makes 5.35 districts per Senator.  California gets 25 districts per Senator.
