California cities grabbing their redevelopment money back

Redevelopment has stopped, and Brown intends to abolosh it. So cities are grabbing their cash back from the agancies and paying off debt.  Good news, one  less level of political corruption.
There first effort was:
Some agencies elsewhere in the state have hustled dozens of projects through their boards, trying to tie up money before Brown can grab it.  Trying to tie the money up in ongoing projects.
My own bankrupt city, Fresno, is tring to do that now, starting a bunch of hastily drawn up proposals to get one last bag of payoffs to local developers. Here in Fresno, we wrote the book on municipal corruption. Since out city council is also the redevelopment agency, they have kept the political payoffs in house. My mayor:
Mayor Ashley Swearengin got involved, as well. At a City Hall news conference with council members Tuesday, she encouraged Fresnans to tell their state legislators to oppose any effort to kill RDAs.
She really means, that Sacramento should continue to collect taxes for local corruption, its an American Politicians Right.
