OK, this energy thing

I would focus my science on two things, in the near term. 1) Get solar efficiency at a reliable an cost effective 10%, in sunny regions. 2) Focus on clean factory, nanotech powered, seawater filtration and production of methanol. Get efficiency up above 50%.

Outdoor nanotech is farther behind than solar panel to electric. Do factory methanol production as the optimum energy storage for solar electric. But indoor, high efficiency nanotech assisted methanol production might arrive sooner than we expect. We want to jump on that. Factories with electric power can supply capacitive coupling to aid the movement of charge. The key ingredient will be these caged catalysts metals, in sheets. They carry charge, they can rotate charge back to an exit port. The variety of ways to make sheet of vertical graphene tubes is growing. The constraint is keeping the impurities out of the process, high flow, very clean methanol factories oceanside.
