Chicago has deep problems keeping the schools working and off strike in any case. Schools suffer pension problems big time. And these pensioners get COLA, 6% this year. Congress is not coming for a bailout. There is a mad rush to get out and get out sooner.
The new generation of teachers has no future in Chicago, that is problem number two, covid is a closer one. Covid brings liabilities forward. The opportunity to spread out the pain dwindles.
