I suspect his followers in the Kremlin are getting a bit antsy about the whole mess.
Putin plays the same inane games the west does. The Kremlin just as delusional as the Swamp. His costs/benefits are not worth it, he is better watching the central Asian republics and trading with China.
Putin has a lot of sway on what NATO does or does not do through existing diplomacy, much more sway then a bunch of old, covid ridden, cold soldiers. He has much better cards to play in the middle east. He has a major energy consumer in China. Hi military sales are doing OK. He cannot see forest from the trees and someone at the Kremlin should point him to much better moves.
