What democracy put some guy from a tiny state in charge?

Arizona Sen. John McCain said Sunday that Russian hacking during the 2016 election threatens to “destroy democracy.”

So 6 million folks in a desert state send the Swamp an official warrior of fortune.  How is it that this one soldier gets the right to go war declaring? I have a new affirmative action senator, forgot her name actually, but all she gets to do is serve tea.
