Here at Imagisoft we convened a meeting of the minds on artificial photosynthesis.
I see a nanotube sheet of short special tubes embedded into a light transparent substrate. Maybe 20 [carbon ring] sections long, these tubes have a buckey ball inside adapted to carry polarized water. So water enters, is carried to the light, immediately polarized and delivered back down to an algae that lives on ionized water, carbon and nutrients. These acid eating algae swarm the inside surface, feeding of these delivered energy sources. Low cost manufacturing allows million of acres of bags made of the membranes. 40% light efficiency within range.
Manufacturing this stuff.
I guess we start with a solid transparent sheet of polyethelyne. Low ply, one ply, as thin as possible. Then run this through the machine that build the layer of nano structures, tightly compacted. The nano structure provide strength and charge carrying machinery. It would look and feel like a spongy graphene sheet??
This is actually a very exciting field to me. Look at the Green Equation. We are utilizing billion of tons of highly dense sequestured carbon and using it to make a huge, and near perfect, black body radiator right at the sunny Gulf coast, while scrubbing the atmosphere of carbon and sequestering it into liquid fuels at low cost.
