The public schools are in a disaster right now, and nearly 90 cents out of every dollar in the increase in taxes over the last few years has gone to pensions rather than the schools."

Taxpayers in Detroit decided that walking away was cheaper than dealing with politicians. Same in Stockton, San Bernardino, and a few other places.  We call it the HardFork, it is mostly the best thing to do.
