The media's last hurrah

Why is CNN, Huffington post, NYT, and a bunch of other traditional media allowing their staff to jump into the partisan  crowd?  These sites have no future in the world of advanced search engines, they know they are done for. Ao, this is their last hurrah, most of them will be diminished or gone in four years.
