We are in the middle of fighting for tax base, and sales taxes are normally reserved for state and local. Illinois, by the way, has some 50 million overdue property tax payments. They can only rely on federal tax base, and California is getting short fighting with NY for the upper income brackets.

That is a lot of tax battle to pay for infrastructure weeks. Is a tax battle worth it?
