At this point the Supremes have fouled things enormously

In response to Texas abortion law, California Gov. Gavin Newsom says he is working on a bill to allow private citizens to sue anyone who makes or sells assault weapons

Why not?

If the union fails, the starting point might just be the boneheads we have put on the Supreme Court.  California now has clean slate to ignore most  federal rulings, no longer having to fake it. Maybe it is for the better,  maybe that was the plot all along.
