About 15 states cannot survive without federal transfers. States like Wyoming, Vermont are on permanent welfare no matter which party wins.
It is a Constitutional blunder, or a deliberate disability; you choose. The intent of the Constitution was obviously that the larger states subsidize the smaller. The problem are the dumbshits like the National Review crowd who cannot countenance a Constitutional blunder.
Because of patriotic delusions by the repubs, the problem is unfixable and soon leads to disunion, likely California exit from the union. States like Wyoming and Vermont are on the edge, another year or two and they are simple not viable anymore.
