I have found order in what seemed to be software chaos. I
t took me a week, but I end up with that SQLite engine, SQL routines, and SQLStudio. I was able to down load the BLS statistics description codes in about an hour. Now I can use the local database to generate a time series code and go directly to BLS and get the data I want, then format it for the R project.
