More importantly, it will soon become evident to most Americans that the only way to reduce the budget deficit, preserve programs deemed essential by the middle class, and not raise taxes on the middle, is to tax the top.The half right is reducing deficits, the half wrong is preserving programs. High progressive taxes on central government greatly reduce the size and breadth of central government.
Elites on both sides of this issue dream on, and live in denial. We have large programs because the cost is shifted, over transaction, to the users of those programs. When the wealthy pay for government, the wealthy make only the government they need.
Channel Theory, once again, it lives, it cannot be defeated by philosophies of the Austrians, Keynesians, Klingons or any other of the philosophical sects.
