LA Times: “Anyone who focuses solely on the technology has not yet grasped how autonomous driving will change our society,” Dieter Zetsche, head of Mercedes-Benz cars, said before his keynote address at the annual event in Las Vegas. “The car is growing beyond its role as a mere means of transport, and will ultimately become a mobile living space.”

I made this points years ago.  The idea is to get up in the morning for a ride to the beach.  Just go to the back seat, grab a cup of coffee and watch a movie.  Your car will find the convoy on the way to paradise, and once there, take you to your camping spot. No need to the vacationer to even bother with driving.
