There seems to be a pause in the roll out of driverless cars. Goog;le downplayed expectations, referring to bad weather among other things, But much of the things are over weight passewnger cabs, and much of the automation are deriverless delivery, especially the last mile. The deliver bots do not carry a half ton passenger cab, but are still monitored by humans remotely. Delivery in bad weather is a gain, and the bots are lighter weight, more nimble and can see in poor visibility.
Even robotic snow plows, they have less width, make sharper turns. All they do is move snow 20 feet, no human, except maybe he monitor watching the bots from his heated truck cab.. The snow bots almost never hit a car, they work around and find the with radar.
