I made one of these as a kid

Mine was a bit different. It was a high voltage neon sign transformer, and two coat hangers straightened and wired directly to the output. Made a great arc, brought it to middle school for a play I wrote about Frankenstein monster pounding our enemy school before the bit flag football game.

Dangerous stuff for a dangerous kid, sort of raw Animal House. I shoulda been watched. No one hurt.
