Like gloves, we never called a glove a prosthetic skin.  Dentists have a prosthetic cup they wear on the wrist for quick dipping and applying dental cement. We have the prosthetic hand drill, another example. It is called hand drill for a reason.

I have often seen a prosthetic vise, commonly called pliers.
