Brick-and-mortar stores in the Age of Amazon have become a bit of an endangered species. But it now appears a new way of tracking inventory — the lifeblood of any retail establishment — is revolutionizing the industry and giving traditional stores a chance to regain some of the market share they've lost to online retailing.Thus is good sandbox story, and will spur adoption of sandbox.
According to Auburn University's RFID Lab, a whopping 96 percent of retailers plan to start tagging their products with RFID labels. As recently as 2015, retailers used 3.9 billion tags. Last year, it jumped to nearly 8 billion tags.
