My home town is getting a $10 billion train
Gov. Brown knows that economic recovery is a top priority in the coming election year, and he frames the plan in those terms.
"California's high-speed rail project will create hundreds of thousands of jobs," Brown said in a statement.
He and other supporters say the plan makes sense, compared to what it would cost to upgrade airports and highways to account for population growth. He's talking about an investment in the state's future, much like his father did.NBC
So, there we have it, the bullet train from Fresno to Bakersfield is going to be built.
