What is a free market?

Corporate social responsibility vs laissez-faire?

Econolog delves into the debate about laissez faire.  This quote from Uncle Milt:
It is the responsibility of the rest of us to establish a framework of law such that an individual in pursuing his own interest is, to quote Adam Smith again, 'led by an invisible hand to promote an end which was no part of his intention.'
Milt is a bit of a socialist.  And his brand of socialism results in the structured stock market with no liability implied by shareholdings.  The market listings by government license.

Milt ends up with the valued added chain, the debt pushing cartel, and leaves most private firms out of this market. But then Milt didn't have sandbox.
