But the Spanish colonies were already here.

So, this is correct starting point of American history, and it is the starting point for most American history books.  That makes ROBBY SOAVE of Reason magazine a moron.

But, on the west coast, the American history was well advanced with Franciscan colonies about the same period. So the 1619 project, and most history books, screw this up.  That is why most history pundits misunderstand California.
