It was a Russian independent, and his natural buyer was Putin. I further think everyone in the club knew this, except Trump. All the entry points were members of the same insider club, until someone finally tipped off a Trump guy. Trump was actually the last one to know. He only found out a few weeks before they were released.
The Mueller stuff was all about everyone being snookered by Putn, and they didn't like Trump anyway. Trump was likely a bystander in the deal.
Trump, the last to know, was a spectator, just like us, mostly seeing this as theater,or humor. He had know idea the insiders were cringing, he didn't know this was all insider stuff.
So now we have Mueller digging up dirt everywhere, with nothing to show. His best bet is to get fired, have someone else deal with the muck.
