It is right there in the Second

The problem with that argument is that under the standard articulated by Amar and Brownstein, any anti-gun politicians can simply claim that any gun control measure they adopt is simply regulating the right to keep and bear arms in ways that “may be needed to protect the community”, and that’s all the evidence needed to uphold the gun control law in question.
Gun nuts have lousy lawyers.

Congress, and other government authorities, have the absolute right to ensure that gun ownership is under the command and control of a regulated militia.  Right there, in the Second, the actual words.  It is not subject to the other rights, it is stated as our right, the right to make gun owners conform to regulated militia.
