Property taxes were due, and when I saw that line, I found n alternative payment method.
There was about a 100 person wait in line. That was 100 hundred middle to lower middle class people, property taxes and parcel taxes in hand having a painful deja vu, they were stuck here last recession cycle, and last year, an last election cycle.
In their mind that are reviewing significant events between the two times they got stuck in line. These folks will hedge their votes next time, look a little closer before pulling the bar for new services. They will remember the waits in line.
Some will make the connection, the count clerk is the same organization that runs county hospitals and schools.
