Activists will camp overnight outside Los Angeles City Hall this weekend to demand swift action to help homeless women. Their goal? To get the city to spend $20 million to shelter 1,000 women by August.The latest campaign by the #SheDoes movement comes as Mayor Eric Garcetti is set to release his budget proposal by April 20. Participants and organizers hope to jostle public officials into taking faster and more decisive steps to shelter the homeless, starting with women who live — and fight to survive — on the streets.Sexual assault is a severe and daily problem faced by homeless women throughout the city, whether it is Skid Row, MacArthur Park or Woodley Park, a large encampment in the San Fernando Valley, according to Mel Tillekratne, the organizer of the demonstration.Give the gals protected campsites. A lot of the gang is drugged beyond repair, we mostly have a campsite herding problem.
