The gluon is the gain from aliasing

The quark probability matrix, in sample data version, is the power spectra of the sidelobes when compression overcomes fundamental bandwidth.  The quarks are overly compressed, quantized in the side lobes. But the post quantization state, the sidelobes are slightly oversampled, that is the gluon effect.  We get the whitening, the ability to lock in a state by kulti color whitening, extra space opens up.

My conjecture is simple, quasars are five color machines, and emit three color stable system. They up the rank of the standard model, to include the more remote sidelobes.
