Singing in houses of worship banned under new order from Newsom as pandemic worsens

Californians are still free to attend their house of worship. But they’re forbidden from singing or chanting.
Updated COVID-19 guidelines issued Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health require churches and other houses of worship to “discontinue singing and chanting activities.”
In previously allowing religious organizations to reopen in late May, the state merely said these institutions should “strongly consider discontinuing singing, group recitation, and other practices and performances.”

This case has already been lost. Newsom cannot single out churches.

At this point, Newsom is unnecessarily picking fights in the Supreme Court. The churches should seek monetary damages sowing a repeated pattern.  Newsom is incredible stupid about this, this kind of attack is politically motivated and Gavin knows this.  Especially when Newsom is counting on Federal bailouts, now is not the time to show the states anti-religious tendency.

Congress should deny bailouts until California fixes this problem. Specifically name California and refuse any pension bailouts. Do that and the teachers union might get a clue.
