Why not an application interface running under SecureID?

With New Exchange Features, Wallets Aren’t Just for Storing Bitcoin Anymore

After four or five yeas the industry is still making proprietary wallets, so none of the wallets can trade with each other.  Pretend you are swapping a five dollar digital bill with someone having a different wallet. How would a universal application interface solve that?

The answer is either all the wallet vendors agree on some simple application interface ideas, or they all wait for Tim Cook to make AppleID programmable. But having a bunch of kids, each one assuming they will dominate the wallet market? Doesn't work.
