Martin Feldstein says the defense budget cannot be cut and entitlements are the expensive item.
He may be right, entitlements are unsustainable. But having cattle ranchers from Montana declare wars regularly does not make defense spending sustainable either.
If we have a meeting of the elders, more than entitlement will be on the agenda. Our last chance for an entitlement meeting was 2010. Now we are 8 trillion in unnecessary debt later, and all that unnecessary needs to be defaulted.
