So physicists have confused charge?

I would say they took negative curvature too far. It is enough to define a flat earth negative in the local region, maybe. But there is no negative in nature. There is spin and the coloring process, either recolor or uncolor as the curvature changes relative direction.  Charge remains the same, magnetic fields reverse handedness. This is enough to explain asymmetry between anti particles and particles. The recoloring process is a reaction to over coloring.
