Passing digital money

All smart cards hold the unique identity of a digit pile in secret, it is never shared in public.

When my smart device sends you the digits, it takes the secret code and mixes it with the destination public key. Only the proper destination having the valid decoder can acquire the secret code, and it remains hidden in the destination cash device.

When a holder wants to engage in deposit in advance, it exchanges the digit pile with the safe cash device of the bank managing the S&L   The open ledger bank can trash the previous cash ID. Then when I withdraw my deposit to my smart card, the bank generations a new secret key.

Cash devices are counterfeit proof and obey the double spending rule. There is, in essence, a Lightening network of sorts managed by the smart cash cards.  The system is not limited to tax fiat, bitcoin can do this. Lots of stuff works better with a counterfeit proof cash card that obeys contracts.
