Open source hero of the day

Venam's Blog

Click into his blog and see that this blogger is developing and explaining font management fr xcb folks.  That is xchars, xchars is all font, and nothing but font, unless, you include one of the qt lites.

So I know that ultimately, I can put up the cursor on the screen without the interference of some Xio manager software.  Artificial restriction within X is what worries me, and slows don work.  So, the time invested in making sure help is on the way is time swell spent. This poster also goes into some detail about rendering, and the reorganization of graphics as we move to user side rendering.

Wayland and xcb slow to catch on? Cairo rendering lib not there yet? That is not the case, I know this situation.  Get the IO driver out of graphics and linux kernel becomes the ideal gamer platform, and the linux industry will thrive supporting gamers on the user side.

This is yet another jump in Moore's Law, a one size fits all processor kernel. A vendor of linux like, Void, the roll your own linux company, that vendor is well suited to deploy linux kernel across game platforms, and add in Wayland for userside rendering. The game industry will love it, roll your own linux game companies will dominate gaming.
