Most of us did not own slaves, and not all slaves were black and not all regions of the USA practiced it. So, no,this won't work unless you include Northern middle class whites with relatives who fought.  Some 200,000 northerners died, or some number close.

True Southern black slavery was a specific, 50 year  aberration of the plantation south. Nothing in the USA says we have not done our duty, it is done, it is over, this is racist crap. Warren is who knows what dumb, tell her to talk to Schumer about mortgage deduction caps.  Harris is the candidate from Narco State, no one deals with that.

Me, for example, from Kentucky, but none of my directs fought in the civil war for the South, I did have some slave owner as a great uncle. He lived and died the plantation era, his ancestors did not. The plantation era was a short period.

There was no racism in the constitution, the history is over. What happened in rural America that made two generation of Blacks forced into agriculture under harsh terms. Bad, nothing like gassing 6 million Jews. If you would have asked a starving Scot immigrant to sign up for two generations of work at George Washington's farm, I might have take it, even raised a family there. And many European poor did exactly that.

Black slavery was not the end, it was never a permanent, it was done in the rural agriculture culture, and get over it.  If I were Black I would be asking why people are still racist.
