His lawsuits against wealthy neighborhoods is eating up his political capital fairly fast.
There is a wealthy tax revolt among the east coast liberals, and it infects west coast liberals via the federal tax channel. Gain could find himself in a two year negotatiation with DC, New York and Texas over who keeps the wealth taxes. Gavin does not want that.
The LA teachers didn't help much by injecting prop 13 revision into law. My suggestion is move the date up, and be done with it one way or the other. Dragging that battle out makes is a national issue as that is federal tax money also.
Drug related crime from Mexico is increasing, badly at the moment. Once voters get caught up on that problem, then Gavin is in an awkward position, even he middle class say that is too much expense, especially theHispanic neighborhoods that suffer.
In short, Gavin you ain't got time left to frivolous lawsuits and grandstanding. We are not teenage girls swooning. And Gavin already spent the rainy day fund, it lasted all of three weeks, teachers will be laid off unless he gets quick access to wealth taxes. Capital gains taxes are coming in much lower, close to zero and an acceptable interest rate on debt is going to be harder to get. We are not buying the fake global warming taxes, even environmentalists are figuring that out.
I am not sure that this guy really knows much.
